    Windows 10 DVD Player decoding error

    I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The Windows 10 DVD player that replaced Windows media player will not play DVDs. I get an error stating it cannot decode the disk. I never had any problem with Windows media player on Windows 7. I have tried
    all of the suggestions about having the latest drivers, etc, but nothing that has been suggested solves the problem. Is Microsoft going to fix this problem?

    Is there a DVD codec to download for Win 10 DVD player?

    I upgraded from 8.1 to 10. My old Cyberlink Power 10 would no longer play DVD movies. I downloaded Win 10 DVD player, and have tried all the suggestions in the forum. I receive message, "cannot decode disk." Have not found a place to download a decoder.
    I did install VLC free player and it does decode, but have already paid $14.99 for Win player that does not work.
