    2004 Fails Multiple Times

Secure Boot is a setting in your BIOS. It is there to prevent unauthorized persons or apps from trying to boot into your system from something external, like a thumb drive or DVD. In some cases, if ON, it can mess up that second phase boot in the Working on Updates phase. Usually, not always, it will occur somewhere around the 80% mark, spinning dots forever, then the dreaded "Reverting Changes Made To Your System". Roll-back.

May have been fine on previous updates but the Setup.exe and code this time for 2004 is less tolerant or flaky. Won't hurt to turn it off and try.

  3. 0xC1900101-0x40017 Installation failed in the second Boot phase with an error during Boot operation.

    Original title: Mr

I have done all the suggestions EG clean boot and stopping

mi server. Spend many hours also uninstalling the old programs. No success. Now

    I received the following message.

    0xC1900101-0x40017

Installation failed in the second Boot phase with an error during Boot operation.

Further more as suggested I updated the Nividia driver and removed all USB devices, No success?

Could it be because my Windows 7 was updated to 7pro?

I finally have had enough I reinstalled about 15 times. When windows 7 it worked perfectly well..

win10 2004 may 2020 fails to install; error code 0xC1900101 - 0x40017 on second boot no progress

win10 2004 may 2020 fails to install; error code 0xC1900101 - 0x40017 on second boot no progress completion.

So updates get installed and get 100% but on reboot the 5th time the os hangs.

I have removed USB card reader and every other device external or external still the same.
