    Win10 default partitions..move C:\ to different disk?

Nkt aure what I did wrong here. I had fully wiped my laptop to try out making a Win10 VM thru Linux, but it didnt work out. Reinstalled Windows now.

I tried to manually partition, but soon found out the installer doesn't allow that. So I selected my NVMe drive for the install.

But, here's my partitions after: http://imgur.com/gallery/I05mlzW

Basically EFI and basic data on the NVMe, and C:\ ended up on the 1TB mechanical drive. Is this normal behavior?

How can I move C over to the SSD?

    Tobias,

I read something the other day about what happens when you move the (CWin10 default partitions..move C:\ to different disk? :) > Users folder to another partition or drive. You have to move the User folder back before upgrading Windows 10 to a new build.

"III. Steps to upgrade Windows 10 to the next build when Users folder is relocated

After you move the Users folder to any non-default location, you will not able to upgrade Windows 10 to the next build. To fix this you have to relocate the folders to it’s default location. Follow the steps below."

    Win10 default partitions..move C:\ to different disk?

How to move user files to a different partition in win10

You can't move all User files as far as I know, but you can certainly move Documents, Pictures, Videos, Downloads, Music, Saved Games, Searches, Favorites and 3D Objects to a different partition.

However, there's no point really, if that partition is situated on a disk that contains the C drive. If the partition is on a physically separate disk, then yes, it's a good idea.

This is not a substitute for regular backups though...
