Windows 10: Win10 doesn't recognize SD-card removal

I never had this problem with Windows 7, nor with Windows 10 Pro after I upgraded.
However, I recently replaced motherboard, etc in my system, and did a clean Windows 10 Pro installation on a new drive. Activation was successful with no problems.

Now, if I plug an SD card into my USB3 external card reader and access it, then remove the SD card, Windows does not automatically realize that it has been removed. This causes confusion if I try to switch between SD cards.
I checked the disk policy for that drive, and it is set to Quick Removal, not Better Performance.
Is there some way I can get it to recognize disk removal automatically??

OS: Windows 10 [Version 6.3.19042]

You may try the following steps:

• Try to remove the SD card and insert it again, make sure it's seated well without using too much force.
• If it still does not recognize the SD card, you may try to connect your SD card to PC via a card reader and format.
• Try using a different SD card and check if your Lumia 635 will recognize it.

You posted that you would try the suggested steps by Tryx3. May we have an update if the suggested steps have resolved the issue about your SD card being recognized as a fixed drive in Windows 10?
