Windows 10: Win10 fails with error 0xe000010

Yet again I've come across a Windows 10 Update error that won't go away and won't install. Previously I had 2 KBxxxxxx updates that wouldn't install from the Windows Update program, but I was able to enter the KB number on one at the MS Update catalog and downloaded the installer directly and it successfully installed it. However, KB4507453 won't complete installation. The direct installer completes and shows that it finished but when I reboot, instead of seeing the usual update percentage go from 0% to 30% and then reboot to finish the update process, it only shows 0% and then reboots. The next message says it's "undoing the update" because it wasn't able to complete it. Windows Update has tried 6 times without success, showing a failure each time. How do I correct this so it will install this update, or is MS going to come out with a fix for this? I'm wondering if there are subsequent updates that are available but won't show up until this one is installed? Thank you for any help!


I wonder if Apple's OSX has this kind of issues?

KB4025339 Fails Install 0x80070564

I am trying Eagle 51's suggestions now. Windows Update troubleshooter found a bunch of errors and fixed all but one.The update is trying to download KB4025339 again. I'll see what happens. At step one troubleshooter finishes with one error unresolved "Potential Windows Update Database Error Detected-Not Fixed". Windows update stalled at 0%.

At step 2 same troubleshooter error. The KB finished a new download failed to install.
Did step 3 KB has downloaded but fails to install.

If Eagle's suggestion doesn't work I'll try EdTittel's suggestion

Tried bothe Eagle & Ed 's suggestions - do not work. Anyone else?

I have noticed that the latest update for my nvidia drivers has failed to update. Wondering about that!

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

 

What is causing Prime 95 to keep failing all the time in the first 10 minutes?

...and what will be your next step if THAT fails to make Prime stable? More volts?

I would think you would want to be using the LEAST amount of volts possible (for heat and longevity issues). That's why I suggested you use a more scientific approach to troubleshooting your instabilty. Meaning, IF your RAM passes 10 loops of MemTest with no errors at the speed you are trying to run, AND Prime continues to fail, THEN consider giving a bump to NB, FSB and Vcore (in that order).
