Windows 10: Win10 reboots when attempting specific Photoshop and Topaz demands

PC Win 10 Pro 20H2 with 32G ram, i74900 CPU, and Nvidia 1070 GPU reboots when Photoshop is asked to "Select Subject," and Topaz DeNoise and Mask Ai opened. Otherwise, the machine is 6 yr old, otherwise performs well. Photoshop runs well, except for the above mention specific calls. Likewise, other Topaz apps run fine. Photoshop and Topaz apps have been removed with REVO and then reinstalled. Temps on CPU and GPU idle in the 30Cs. Windows update is current, as is the Nvidia driver I've tried both Gaming and Studio drivers. I've also removed the 1070 or disabled the Intel GPU in the CPU. The rebooting issue occurred with both independent GPU.

DISM and SFC run with no errors reported. Other windows troubleshooting apps have been run with no help. Adobe and Topaz suggest that the problem resides in my machine, not their programs. I am at my wit's end. There are many programs on the machine, so I would rather not do a clean install of Windows.

I would undoubtedly appreciate advice on how to troubleshoot and solve this problem.

Can't Select Photoshop as a Default App

I've just downloaded Photoshop CC2018 and tried to make it the default photo viewer, but it does not appear in the list of apps that I can select from. Have also tried doing the same for opening .jpg files, but just the same, no Photoshop! I have rebooted the system a couple of times but it makes no difference.

Any suggestions?

If that's the case, kindly try these steps and see if this resolves the issue:

• Open File Explorer, then right-click on a JPEG file.
• Select Properties, then click Change beside
  Opens with.
• Select Photoshop. If Photoshop is not on the list, select
  Look for another app on this PC.
• From the list, select Photoshop.

If the Photoshop app is missing, we highly suggest that you update the app or uninstall; then reinstall the Photoshop app through Windows Store.
