Windows 10: Win10 Recent file list missing

a) Win w10 no longer keeps a record of recent files. Cannot pinpoint an event.


b) attempting to correct the issue in the Explorer option will not save.


c) Settings produces the message "hidden or managed by organisation" and greys out relevant changes there.


I have reinstalled win10 under instruction from MS support so now on Version 10.0.18362 Build 18362 and the problem persists.


MS have dumped me from their chat app 3x after they failed to correct this issue! So far 15 online 'solutions' have been tried and failed. Last two dumpers Nykolai and Vinv


Looking for recent solutions (within 12 months) to an apparently old problem.

or just open regedit and remove all the fileX from that key.

that's all off already dude lol, I'm really surprised there is no fix for the recent files list/MRU in the file menu of programs haha

I appreciate the help, MS really needs to implement a Group Policy or a string that can do that for all programs installed
