Windows 10: Win10 (Win7) Backup to usp terrabyte drive stops with error 0x800706BA. Worked fine for...

My backup will run to approx. 56/57% and stops saying the RPC wont start. I have no idea what that is. On the web this is a BIG issue but most of the suggestions seem extremely difficult. Ideas?

Backup has stopped working. Error Code 0x800706BA

Ever since I returned from my last trip with my portable hard driving, my backup program will no longer work. I plugged in the hard drive last night think it would just work as always; but this morning I got the above error code 0x800706BA. I've searched
and searched and cannot find a current answer. My issues has nothing to do with updating windows 10; it's running my normal backup schedule.

Hope someone has an answer.

 

win7 (running win10 OS) backup not completed

I am getting the backup not completed error message. I upgraded OS from win7 professional to win10 about 6 mo. ago. The win7 backup worked fine for a while before receiving this error message. Win7 backup say that
Last backup was 3/2/2016 and backup is scheduled daily.

However, when went through the file recover procedure, I was able to see that the
last backup date is today.

I went through all the steps recommended by earlier post:

- clean boot without internet connection

- DISM cleanup

- check disk



Any advise?

 

Dual Boot Win7/Win10


Reloaded factory software on Dell XPS laptop Win7. Created additional partition for Win10. Installed Win10 iso from boot to the separate partition. Previously labeled C drive as Win7 and D drive as Win10. Default boot is Win7. Works fine. On the boot screen I choose Win10. Works fine. . Under Win7 boot shows c as win7 and d as win10. When I look at file explorer in Win10 it shows C drive as Win10 and D drive as Win7. What can I do to stop this from happening?
