Windows 10: Win10 x64 hanging

Hi
My Win10 x64 randomly hangs for about 5 min and then comes back. *Sad
Anyone with the same behaviour? how can i know if it's HDD related?

found a Windows error report at + or - the same time of last hang and here it is, related files are not in given directories

Win10 Update KB3106246 - no info available on Microsoft site?

Hi all

My Win10 Home just got an update (13 Nov) from Microsoft KB3106246 - it says "Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3106246)". There is absolutely no information on Microsoft website about this update?!

As my computer hangs every 2 days (usually during the night in Europe) I was suspecting updates from Microsoft so - although this update was installed just after I rebooted following a hang/crash I was curious and wanted to look it up.

Does anyone know what this update is about, how come it is not documented on Microsoft website???

Windows 10 crashes PC randomly

Yes, I have the exact same problem. I have 8 DELL Optiplex 3020's at the office, 5 Running Win7 x86 and 3 running Win10 x86. I did a clean install to Win10 from the ISO from Microsoft. I can confirm that ALL three Win10 installs hang at random, needing a
hard reboot - All machines are specced identically and purchased at the same time and have 4 GIG ram with the latest drivers /firmware patches.

The Win7 machines are running perfectly.

The only workaround I am testing is formatting and reinstalling to Win10 x64 - The PC that is running the 64bit version hasn't hung once in 2 days. The only problem now is that we NEED 32-bit as we have a ton of legacy apps that will not work on 64-bit

If you suspect your harddrive you can run chkdsk /r from command prompt(admin)

To check disk health you could get CrystalDiskInfo from Crystalmark.info

If you type Reliability Monitor into Cortana and start that app what is it reporting?

While this is not a true BSOD I wonder if the folks in that section of the forum would have the tools to read the dmp file produced.

Lets see what you find with HDD and the reliability monitor.
