Windows 10: win11 upgrade to win11 pro gone wrong

Bought a new computer with win11 home installed. I then went to the microsoft store app and bought the win11 pro upgrade. click the install button sat back while it did its thing and when the system came back after restart I had win 11 enterpise installed and a activate windows nag screen. I was given no key code so now I have a machine without a activated operating system.

I am going to buy a new PC to upgrade to win11,(upgrade due anyway) but i am not happy I thought win10 was the last, well I am going to move away and dual linux and run with that. Pretty much had enough with windows i am moving on.

 

Processor nogo Win11 upgrade - Upgrade processor?

Windows 10 Pro 21H1

I ran the MS Win11 hardware suitability tool. And my trusty, 3 year old Lenovo P50 failed--reason: processor.

The machine's processor is: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz

Just curious... is it reasonable that a newer processor might be plug compatible with the motherboard and with Win11?

Downgrading pre-installed Win11 to Win10

Definitely they will run on Win11, the caveat is around the performance gap. Note the original question was a hypothetical question to confirm "possibility" and the answer was yes. Whether this topic is about convincing to go into Win11 now is another matter. Eventually, we all upgrade but it just so happened I prefer not to at this time - it can wait.

If you've watched the entire benchmarking (and also his other videos in the past), you see the amount of work he puts on benchmarks, how he's transparent on certain differences of units under test, and how this can affect results and allows margin of error. He's actually one of the few good guys on the internet who does these things.

P.S.
I like mostly third-person games and playing HZD atm. Next is Control and later GoW 2018 when it drops on PC.
