Windows 10: Win11 Wallpapers for Virtual Desktop

The nice thing about Win11 is that you can assign a different wallpaper for each virtual desktop.However, this is the behavior I encounter:1. I use MS wallpaper that comes with Win11 for desktops that I use for work purposes. They do not misbehave.2. I use my personal wallpaper for my Main desktop. After a while when I want to switch desktops the icon on the taskbar changes to a thumbnail. In the image folder where this wallpaper is located, it too is displayed as a thumbnail. So to resolve, I click on the image, it returns as icons both in the image folder and at taskbar.Thank you

Wallpaper disappears after switching to another virtual desktop

My wallpaper is set to slideshow via personalization, and I've multiple virtual desktops. After rebooting and switching to another virtual desktop, the wallpaper would display a black screen across all desktops. Clicking the default theme again fixes the issue.

Windows 11 Pro, 22631.2861. I've tried to turn off all sync on OneDrive.

 

Desktop wallpaper for new users

Setting default users lets you specify the wallpaper on user's desktops and prevents other users from changing the image or its presentation. You can check these steps on how to set wallpapers from all users:

• Type run on the search bar and press Enter.
• On the window, type gpedit.msc and click OK.
• Locate and click Administrative Templates.
• Select Desktop > Desktop > Desktop Wallpaper.
• Tick Enabled, and name your wallpaper.
• Select Apply and click OK.
