  1. Win7 to Win10 won't activate.

    Hi all,

I got a problem i still have about 60 notebooks left with Win7 enterprise.

What i did was got the files from SCCM that we normally deploy/install our notebooks with.

I started the setup and it came with a upgrade procedure, following all the steps it started installing Win10.

After the installation was complete i looked at the activation and it said "not activated"

If i sign-in with my work email to get connected and normally you get activated it doesn't activate.

Also if i use my volume license key it won't work. keeps saying can't activate.

Can i not use this upgrade feature? or am i doing something wrong?

If this doesn't work i have to get the enterprise iso but doing this will create so much more work.

Securing personal data, installing applications again, etc, etc

Or will something else work like leave the domain and re-join?

    :)

    Win10 Activation Error (from Win7) Error 0xC004C003

Under advice, due to the unique circumstances, I have begun y own thread.

    Most recent:

Yesterday I have taken a different approach I was trying to avoid, but to see if things would resolve. I installed a "clean" drive (unformatted) and did a clean install of Win7. I activated it successfully and downloaded and installed almost 200 updates.
I installed only updates and drivers, no apps of any sort. I then downloaded the .iso and burned to disk, then today I have performed the upgrade to Win10 with the disk image.

Currently there is no "Activation" display on the desktop, but I get the same error as before when trying to activate Win10. Same code as before "0xC004C003" Error Description: The Activation Server determined the specified product key has been blocked.

Again, I have no apps installed, only a clean Win7 install then upgrade to Win10 using a disk created from the .iso. I have downloaded and installed all Win10 updates available.

Geeze, I'm surprised YOU can keep track of all that!

Your situation is so involved & convoluted that it'd be best if you started your own, new thread.

That being said, here's an idea for you:

    • Format the HDD then do another clean install of Win7 - but do NOT connect it to the internet.
    • If, perchance, the clean install installs a Norton free-trial again, uninstall it, download (using a different computer) & run a fresh copy of the Norton Removal Tool & reboot.
    • Use the ISO do upgrade to Win10. (No, you don't need to install any Win7 updates if you're upgrading via the Media Creation Tool & ISO.)
    • Once Win10's up & running, do NOT install the Norton application, just make sure Windows Defender & Firewall are enabled and working properly.
    • Run a manual check for updates and see if any/all updates offered (e.g., KB3081444) will successfully install (which will only happen if the Win10 install is legit/activated).
Good luck! If you need further assistance, please begin your own new thread - then reply to this post & give me a link to your new thread.
