  1. Window 10 Photo App Pauses Video Export on Computer Lock?

Dell Intel XPS Tower with Radeon RX560 GPU

    Windows fully updated.

Was creating and exporting a movie using the Win10 Photos app. At the halfway point of rendering the movie I guesstimated it should've taken roughly one more hour complete the project. I walked away and forgot about it for a bit, came back 2 hours later to my lock screen set to AutoLock in 10 minutes, signed in with my PIN and discovered the rendering must've paused when when Windows locked because it was still at nearly halfway completed.

I brought up Task Manager and looked at Performance and saw the GPU and subsequently the progress bar were moving again. Stranger still is the GPU is only running at about half of the speed it was running before dropped from 60-70% utilization to 30-40% and the rendering is definitely taking longer.

Does Windows pause functions like that when it gets locked? Is there any way around this?

    Thanks

    :)

  2. Windows Photos Export Video Project Problem

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand the difficulties you are facing with the Photos App, while exporting video project. We were able to create and export the video project. So the issue could be with photos app installed in the PC. I would suggest you
to follow the steps mentioned in these methods.

Method 1: Please refer the steps as mentioned in

Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store
    article.

Method 2: You can also try to re-install the app using PowerShell. Here are steps to re-install photos app:

    1. Open PowerShell (Admin). Right click on the start button and then on PowerShell (Admin).
    2. Then type: get-appxpackage *Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage
    3. Once the above command is successful. You can install the Photo app from Microsoft Store.

    We await your response.

  3. Windows 10 Photo App video export/share problems

When trying to export/share video on the Photo App the resulting video is rubbish to say the least. Before sharing/exporting it seems fine.

I am running the latest Windows 10 and Photo App:

I am not using 3rd party apps

The video is created and exported in the Photo App

I have applied all the troubleshooting steps. Just to pre-empt garbage responses the ISSUE is microsoft specific - not thrid party app, not a hardware issue.

    Now please offer a resolution

Window 10 Photo App Pauses Video Export on Computer Lock?

Windows 10 built in photos app not exporting video

I have Windows 10 build 1809. I created a video with the built in Photos app, when I try to export the video it does not give the option to save the video to any location. The app just says exporting then goes back to the editing screen.

I've searched for the video file in file explorer with the modification date when the video was exported with no results. Using Power shell I uninstalled the photos app. I didn't get any feedback from Power shell was finished uninstalling the photos app. After that I reinstalled the app with the store. Of course I repeated the export process I got the same results.

I'm thinking of re-registering the photos app, but I think I'll get the same results. I'm hoping that I don't need to do a in place upgrade. Where should I go next?

    Thanks in advance.
