    Hello,


    I upgraded my window 10 Home to windows 10 Pro around 6 months ago and paid through Microsoft. I believe the upgrade was around 110$CA


    My laptop just bit the dust, does anyone know if I could use or transfer the windows Pro Key to my new computer that has windows 10 home?


    Or is this a money grab and only thing to do is to buy a new Key?

    New computer - transfer old key

    Hi,

    The Windows 10 Pro upgrade would be tied to the old computer and is not transferable. I believe it will be necessary to purchase Windows 10 Pro.

    Try the following steps:

    To upgrade, select the Start button, then select Settings >
    Update & security > Activation.

    • If you have a digital license for Windows 10 Pro, and Windows 10 Home is currently activated on your device, select
      Go to Store and you'll be prompted to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for free.
    • If you have a digital license for Windows 10 Pro, but Windows 10 Home isn't activated on your device, select
      Troubleshoot, and then follow the steps to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.
    • If you don't have a digital license for Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Pro is available for purchase from the Store.
    Upgrade Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro

    Transfer pro to a new computer.

    I have an older Windows 10 computer which I upgraded to Pro from home. Just got a new computer with Windows 10 home preinstalled. Any way I can transfer the Pro upgrade to the new computer, letting the older computer, which was either 7 or 8 originally
    revert down to Windows 10 home? I will be keeping both but giving older to my kids. By the way, I have already upgraded to 1803
