Windows 10: Window 10 will not accept Local Password @ Admin log in

The administrator log in changed from auto to manual when windows auto updated on the 18/ january. I do not have the old password & windows will not allow ANY ACCESS. Even when restarting with shift key held down. Unable todo anything W/O password.

i need a way to get into my laptop. I have access to my microsoft account so I know the problem is confined to the laptop and its recent update.

does any one know how i can get around it and correct it.

• When you say, “log into my PC in admin mode” which admin mode are you referring?
  
• When you say, “it wont accept any of my recent and changed passwords” what is the error message you are receiving?
  
• Are you trying to login to the default admin account or to your administrator account on your computer?
  
• Are you trying to sign in to a local account or a Microsoft account?
  
• How many user accounts do you have in your computer?

Ok, now this is weird: XP repair will not accept my new password! WTF?
