Windows 10: Window7 premium to Windows10 pro activation

I have a win7 premium PC and I have installed win10 pro on it using a recovery disc from a PC running win10.

I chose win10 pro and omitted the product key.

Activation does not accept my original win7 premium key.

So how can I activate it?

Can't upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro

I suggest you to download and create an installation media for Windows 10 Pro form the link provided below:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-download/windows10

After the installation media is created, suggest you to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro from the installation media. When the upgrade asks for product key, enter the product key purchased for Windows 10 Pro. If it does not accept, suggest you to skip the activation
step. After the Operating System is installed, suggest you to activate by phone by following the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “slui 4” and press Enter.
• Select the Region from the list and click Next.
• Call the Toll-Free number provided on top and can activate via phone.

Windows 10 Pro activation issue from Windows 7 Home Premium

I had a Windows 7 Home Premium. I decided to install fresh Windows 10 Pro. Maybe it was stupid to do, but I tried to activate Windows 10 with Windows 7 Home Premium key. And it didn't worked out...

Any suggestions?

You can't activate Windows 10 Pro with a Windows 7 Home Premium key, but you can perform a clean install of Windows 10 Home then use your Windows key to activate it.
