Windows 10: Windows 10 1803 update to 1909 failed installation

Hello, my PC currently runs Windows 10, version 1803 (build 17134.1069). A few days earlier, I saw that the Win 10 version 1909 came out, so I wanted to update. I was surprised to notice that my version was 1803, an old one. How come my PC didn't update automatically to the newer versions ? Weird. After a first attempt, I got an error code. I looked it up, found some solutions proposed my Microsoft staff, applied them but nothing worked.

Then, I tried with the Media Creation Tool, with a USB. Didn't work. Tried with a DVD, just in case. No luck.
One of the first error codes I remember getting was 0x80070032. Another time 0x80070002.
After unplugging all of the USBs, I ran the sfc and dism commands. Everything checked out fine.
Then I reset the Windows update folders. Deleted everything from Softwaredistribution and even renamed the catroot2 to catroot2.old.
The error I get now is 0x8004005 for the last 3-4 attempts to update. I found all these errors in the setupact.log file from $Windows-BT$/Panther.

These are the first lines where the error appears :


DISM DISM WIM Provider: PID=14292 TID=13060 [H:\] is not a WIM mount point. - CWimMountedImageInfo::Initialize

DISM DISM VHD Provider: PID=14292 TID=13060 [H:\] is not recognized by the DISM VHD provider. - CVhdIm::Initialize

DISM DISM Provider Store: PID=14292 TID=13060 Failed to retrieve the Provider Instance. - CDISMProviderStore::Internal_GetProvider(hr:0x80004005)


I don't know if this help, I could share the whole file, if needed. I need to mention that the H:\ is my system SSD drive.


Basically, I have no idea what else to do. I want to avoid to do a clean install. I hope someone can find a solution.

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time

Windows 10 update 1909

Hey,

I've just clean installed windows 10. It is build 1803.

Today awesome 1909 have launched. I want to update to 1909 but in settings it is showing me option to upgrade to 1809. My friend told me I have to upgrade to 1809, then 1903 and then finally 1909.

I want to directly upgrade to 1909 without going through intermediate steps. How can I do this?

 

Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

Steps to confirm issue:

• Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
• Secondary drive not visible in device manager
• Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

Steps to replicate issue:

• Installing 1909 update

Steps to resolve issue:

• Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.
