Is Microsoft aware of the missing options and missing power plans in the 1809 update?





Previous versions allowed for adjustment of display brightness from power options, and also display dimming.


I believe this is also causing issues with hibernation and sleep states, Intel DPTF, and also causing a flickering effect for the display as brightness levels jump to and from maximum and preset levels, and an unknown level from missing power plan profiles.

Power plan?

Upon checking, it seems that there's nothing wrong with your system. It is usual that you have to double-click your mouse before your monitor wakes up.

For the meantime, we suggest changing the power plan by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + S.
• Type in Power Settings.
• On the pop-up window, choose Additional power settings.
• Select High performance.

After changing the power plan, we suggest that you monitor the changes made and check if that will work for you.

Power plan brightness setting gone in Windows 10 1809

Hi,

I have three notebooks with Windows 1809(one upgraded from 1803 and two clean installs).

In previous versions we would have "Adjust plan brightness" option in Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Power Options->Edit Plan Settings.

The brightness you adjust by hot key/Windows Mobility center/Modern UI setting is still remembered.

But you cannot change it in power plan settings.(You can't see plan brightness in Advanced power settings window either.)

I suggest you to try running the Power Troubleshooter to check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Run the Power troubleshooter on the system.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key + X, select Control panel.
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the Power troubleshooter
