Windows 10: Windows 10 1903/1909 upgrade

Like many people, I have had immense problems with the new version upgrade for Win10. For background, our household has four commercial laptops (2x HP, one Dell, one Lenova) that ALL updated automatically to release 1903 earlier this fall without a hiccup.

That leaves my home built system -- ASUS P6X58D mainboard, Intel i7-980X, 12GB ram, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti, four HDD with specifically Windows installed on C: which is the single partition of a WD 1TB with 249 GB free. The system has been stable running release 1803 for nearly 2 years.

Multiple automatic Windows updates failed. Manual upgrades were no better. When I had the time to devote to the issue, I disabled automatic updates; removed my Norton antivirus; unplugged ALL of my peripheral devices; deleted the c:\$WINDOWS.~BT folder, the Windows\Panther folder, and the Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder; manually checked and requested updates for all my drivers under Device Manager; ran DISM.exe; and finally used Update Assistant.

For 3 times now, this process ended at 60% with the message "0xC1900101 - 0x30018 The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP_SPECIALIZE operation". The first of these attempts was to upgrade to 1903, and the system had an Nvidia display driver from September 2019. The latter two attempts were to upgrade to 1909 - the first with the system running the same Nvidia display driver, and the last attempt running the even newer driver from Nvidia dated 11/26/2019.

My first question is whether the upgrade process is incompatible with ANY Nvidia drivers, including the latest (441.41)? Should I delete the Nvidia driver and go to a generic Windows video driver, and then try to install Nvidia after the upgrade?

My second question is whether their is anything else to try before giving in and doing a clean Windows install (which I would really rather avoid)? This process has been MORE than annoying, especially as my 1803 install has been so stable, and simple security updates have been a piece of cake.

Windows 10 update 1909

Hey,

I've just clean installed windows 10. It is build 1803.

Today awesome 1909 have launched. I want to update to 1909 but in settings it is showing me option to upgrade to 1809. My friend told me I have to upgrade to 1809, then 1903 and then finally 1909.

I want to directly upgrade to 1909 without going through intermediate steps. How can I do this?

KB4524570 is CU which update build 18362.xxx to build 18362.476.

To get 1903 switched to 1909 you have to install KB4517245, which is

How to upgrade Windows 10 1903 to 1909?

Hi,

I am a test engineer, I have to upgrade my current test Win10 1903 OS to 1909 OS. I tried updating the SSU KB4525419 and LCU KB4522355 by referring WiKipedia(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_10_version_history#Version_1909_(November_2019_Update),
But still the OS remains 1903. Please help me to find the way to upgrade to 1909.

I am also doubting that there is no information mentioned in above KBs about 1909 upgrade. Am I doing right way? or Should I follow any other way of approach?
