Windows 10: Windows 10 1903 causing PC to shutdown and restart

Since I have had the 1903 update, my PC frequently just shuts down and restarts. Often it does not even complete re restart cycle before it happens again.


I have even reset the PC in the hopes of resolving the problem. The issue is still around but not as frequent.


I searched and tried a number of things.

By using the following command, I was able to identify some corrupt files related to PowerShell that cannot be fixed.

c:\windows\system32>sfc /scannow


The result is:

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

See the windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log file.


Some of the errors are:


2019-08-03 22:37:20, Info CSI 00000040 Hashes for file member [l:40]'Microsoft.AppV.AppvClientComConsumer.dll' do not match.

All of the corrupted files are related to PowerShell.

I don't know how to resolve this issue.

Windows 10 pro will not shutdown or restart. Gets stuck

I tried to shutdown and restart my pc but both times they STUCK! I left it for 15 minutes and still had to force shutdown

 

Hard drive/ OS issue

a guy suggested :

• shutdown
• unhooked HDD
• restarted
• yay !!
• reconnected HDD
• restarted
• yay !!

After following the above steps TechGuy_82, I got the following positive result after running sfc /scannow.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.

I no longer have corrupt files.

Time will tell if this clean bill of health will resolve the sudden shutdown and restart problem.

For the time being, I will say problem solved.
