Windows 10: Windows 10 1903 update - resulting problems

I have a LENOVO Miix 2 10 that I purchased new with Windows 8.1 installed.I successfully performed a ‘clean install’ of Win 10 1709 with everything functioning correctly.

Successful migration to 1803 took place 01/05/2018 with everything functioning correctly

Apparently successful migration to 1809 took place on 04/10/2018 BUT not functioning were –

Touch Screen, Camera, Microphone, Speakers!

so I ‘Rolled Back’ to the previous version.

Two more apparently successful migrations to 1809 were performed BUT with the same problems resulting each time so I ‘Rolled Back’ each time.

Apparently successful migration to 1903 took place on 08/07/2019 BUT the result was the same four problems as previously AND ALSO the battery was not recognised so I again ‘Rolled Back’ and received the warning that support for 1803 would cease in November 2019!

As you can see on 30/07/2019 KB4507466, the 1803 Cumulative Update was successfully installed.

To successfully migrate to 1903 I could attempt a ‘Clean Install’ of 1903 BUT if that should result in the same five problems as the update then I would NOT be able to ‘Roll Back’!

Please advise.

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

i've seen this when the stock USB drivers went kaput. Only ever seen it once - i used a PCI USB 2.0 card and connected the mouse and keyboard to that, and manually updated the USB 2/USB 3 drivers.

 

Windows Home 10 update from 1803 to 1903

I have windows 10 x64 home edition, version 1803.

I'm trying to update it to the new onw, version 1903, but my pc freezes every time when the installation is going to finish (around 80%).

I tried to update the OS in different ways:

1. Start > Settings > Update
   & Security > Windows Update , and then select Check for updates.
   If updates are available, install them.
2. Download the Update Assistant
3. Download the Media Creation Tool 1903

The result is always the same.

No errors, only pc freezing.

What do you suggest to do?
