Windows 10: Windows 10 - 1909 Login issue trying to use PIN

Hello everyone,

I just had this issue few hours ago as I was login into my Windows 10 using PIN ......

actually not because in the login screen there was this text informing that you can not use PIN....

..... And yes PIN-login has been working so far fine.

Anyway, this text faded and so did my main UID... Only available ID was the second id that did not have any rights.

As I got logged in with this other ID, which is a basic user ID. I also noticed that all the other ID has been disabled in this workstation and
definitely not by me.

Now I am not able to login with my main ID and with this other id I am not able to access nor change / correct anything.

My main ID is working when one logs in to Microsoft account, but my workstation is no longer listed in the "devices" nor it is an option as a login id.
Workstation has all the latest updates available to hardware, operating system, any application, middle-ware installed into it, except Office has been 2013 with 'the latest fixes'-level for it. So relevant patch management has been taken care of.

Workstation is behind firewall, and it has the latest Antivirus definitions in place

This laptop is not part of any specific domain and there are no specific group policies that would have been added by me.


Question:

If the ID was corrupted why it works when login into Microsoft site from browser, and only the device disparaged from the site.
As I see it this issue is not limited into my workstation as it has changed my accounts definitions at the Microsofts end removing it from devices definitions?

Is this a licencing issue?

How to proceed from here to fix this as one cannot do any administrative changes with the other user ID?
Has anybody similar experiences? Any ideas what has happened/ is happening?
I would like to get an advice how to proceed in order to access my data and get this fixed. Thank you in advance.

OSK PIN login on non-touch device

Hello,

I suggest you to create a PIN for your device and try the on screen keyboard to login to the same.

You may follow the steps below to create PIN protection for your device.

• 
  Go to Settings and select account.
  
• 
  Click on sign in option and Go to PIN option.
  
• 
  Now click on Add and set PIN for login.
  

You can use the same PIN to login to your device using the on screen Keyboard from ease of access option and verify the result.

User.000 issue after updating to 1909

I'm one of the many people suffering from issues with user profiles after applying Update 1909 to Windows 10. I've read all the threads I can find on the topic here and have followed the suggestions, all to no avail. Any other thoughts are appreciated.

After applying Update 1909, the ProfileImagePath was changed to c:\users\User.000
One file that was always in use and couldn't be removed was left in c:\users\User (can't recall or find the exact file now), so I could never rename or remove the c:\user\User directory.

I followed the multiple suggestions from Brink and others:

• Rebooted at least 6 times
• Enabled hidden Administrator
• Booted into Safe Mode
• Changed ProfileImagePath
• Tried to rename c:\users\User but couldn't because a file was still in use
• Copied all data from c:\users\User.000 into c:\users\User
• Rebooted and had temporary profile
• Followed steps in Brink tutorial to change ImageProfilePath; rebooted with no change
• Restored using Restore Point from before Update 1909 - returned to single profile state (User.000)
• Removed each update that was installed individually and rebooted after each update removal - profile state never changed
• After all updates were removed, repeated the steps above with hidden Administrator, changing profile, etc. - same issue with file in use in c:\users\User
• Followed all steps above with hidden Administrator but without copying files from User.000 to User - same results

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

 

Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

Steps to confirm issue:

• Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
• Secondary drive not visible in device manager
• Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

Steps to replicate issue:

• Installing 1909 update

Steps to resolve issue:

• Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.
