I'm getting a new computer and I will getting ride of my current Dell XPS8700. I'd installed a 1TB SSD in the Dell, and I cloned the old 1TB HDD. I formatted the old 1TB HDD using the following steps:
- diskpart
- list disk
- select disk 0 (the old 1TB HDD)
- create part pro
- active
-format fs=ntfs quick
- quit
- quit.
I have a Dell XPS computer. I cloned the original 1TB HDD to a new Samsung 1TB SSD using the Samsung software. Zero issues. I'am going to re-install the old HDD in the Dell and use it as the "C" drive. So, I used EaseUS ToDo backup to clone the SSD to the HDD. But only the "OS C:" partition copied over. Disk 1 Partitions 1 (recovery), 2 (EFI system) and 5 (Recovery) did not copy over. I want to reload Window 10 on the old HDD but it won't as the computer says that it can't find the recovery folder/files. I think it reason is the process listed above. Help would greatly appreciated.

Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

Steps to confirm issue:

• Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
• Secondary drive not visible in device manager
• Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

Steps to replicate issue:

• Installing 1909 update

Steps to resolve issue:

• Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
