Windows 10: Windows 10 2004 fails with 0x800700a1

I have a Dell Latitude 5401 laptop. Yesterday the Windows update attempted the 2004 update. It downloaded and began install but when reboot it got to about 12% and then reported and error quickly and then was undoing changes.


The error code as reported in the Update History was 0x800700a1


So today I did the DISM command which reported everything OK. Than ran SFC this reported some corruption and files replaced. I than rebooted, downloaded the Update Assistant and tried again. I got the same error. Some type of incompatibility.


Anyway I can send MS files to work what is not liked on my machine?

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
