Windows 10: Windows 10 64bit won’t install. Windows 10 32bit did install. Please help me understand...?

Hi, good evening.


I have a intel i5 3570k cpu capable of both 32&64bit. Currently using only windows 32bit.

I have a legit win10 software on a thumb stick drive.

I am looking into streaming online.

The 64bit win 10 install would not work. I tried several times but failed. But I did manage to install 32bit

win10?




It doesnt matter now as im upgrading everything but would like to understand why I couldnt get win10

64bit to install even though I have a compatable processor. Now I dont think I missed anything as I ran

mscoreinfo and had all the correct files. (Not sure exactly what there called but I had to check for 4

different ones) and I had them all...?


I wont waffle on no more for confusing myself but if anyone can shed a glimpse of light why this

happened, please!! I dont want to run into this again on my new build!


I have 8gig ram but only using 4gig due to 32bit win10

I have a Sapphire graphics card. Not sure on model but quite old. Not sure exactly but 5 years or more.

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?

Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.
