Windows 10: Windows 10 Activation on new Hardware

I have a relatively old laptop that is running on Windows 10 and I recently bought a new PC. Since I have already Windows 10 installed in my old laptop,I migrated the drive that contains the OS from my old laptop into the new drive that I bought together with my new PC. Logging into my new PC, it says "Windows is not activated" so what I did was I linked my digital license to my Windows account using my old laptop. Once it is done, i tried to activate my license using my new PC using the Windows Troubleshooter. I got to the point where it allows me to select the machine I have to activate but when click on Activate, i just get a message that says "Unable to activate Windows. We can't activate Windows on this device. Try again later".


I don't know what's going on and I posted this to seek solution to this problem. Thanks in advance!

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?

 

Windows 10 Activation (Insider)

This kinda sucks. However, if one is upgrading from a retail W7/8, then it should activate on different hardware, with possible phone activation required if it's been over 120 days or whatever the timeout period is now since the last activation. Remember to erase the copy on the old hardware, of course.
