Windows 10: Windows 10 Activation Problem

Hi there,


I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 long ago for free. As far as i know, when you upgrade your Windows like that you get a digital license instead of a product key.


Everything worked normally, no problems occurred during the upgrade process back then. Until a few days ago. I came home one day to see the "Activate Windows" watermark on the down right part of my screen. I got really confused since when i checked long ago if Windows 10 is activated properly it said it is activated through a digital license.


After I saw the watermark, I went to Activation section in Update & Security to find out that the supposed key i have in my laptop is invalid.


Keep in mind, I never entered any product key in my laptop nor changed any hardware or the motherboard which as far as i know is the main cause of your digital license going away.





I have looked for answers & solutions for over a month or so now, but nothing that could help me, so i thought to post my problem here in hope that my problem can be solved.

How long did you wait for activation?
When I re-installed with a fresh install... it took a few hours to sync and activate.
However, it did, finally, activate.

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?
