Discus and support windows 10 activation in Windows 10 Updates and Activation to solve the problem; Yes COA sticker on dell pc (the one which had nvidia melt down). I've used win10 for about a year.     Yes COA sticker on dell pc (the one which had nvidia melt down). I've used win10 for about a year. What does the MB have to do with anything? Win10 activation was never tried, both win7 and win10 were re-installed a couple months ago.
    I went to create an MS account to learn that the user name existed, so I had the password emailed to me.
    What is my best direction from here?

    Hmm,
    To many posts I think; the MB was replaced, SW was re-installed as posted. The initial MB replacement wasn't a fashionable thought, instead: a needed task to regain any use of a cosmetically better looking laptop and keep it's superior screen capabilities.
    I run into several limitations with Win7 home premium and have considered get the pro version more than once. Looks like the right time to do same with win10 pro.
