Windows 10: Windows 10 after Update from 1909 to 20H2, desktop freeze.

Hi community,

This weird problem happens twice. I was thinking maybe is my old hardware and drivers are generating this problem, but, I build a new pc, and after getting an update to the windows version 20H2, this phenomen happens again.

What happens is:

Randomly my desktop freeze, I can click the icons in the desktop, but the windows icon doesn't response. It works if I push the windows button in my keyboard, but if I want to click some program, this doesn't respond. The only solution to this, restart my pc and if I'm lucky, this bug is gone.

As I said, this is my second pc, the older one was an Intel i7 6700 with all drivers uptodate. My new PC is a ryzen 5 3600 with all drivers uptodate.

Windows 10 Pro 1909 upgrade to 2004 or 20H2 freezes at 48% 0xC1900101

Hi,

I am a new member and have signed up as I am pulling my hair out trying to figure this out for the past few months.

I currently have Windows 10 Pro 1909 installed and Windows update has tried to install Windows 2004, however whilst installing on reboot it freezes at 48%. I have also tried previously to install 2004 with an ISO mounted and USB however with no luck.

Also I have tried installing Windows 20H2 both with ISO and with USB and again it just fails and freezes at 48%.

I have attached the error message I receive i have to force shutdown (once it freezes) and it rolls back any changes.

Please can anyone help

 

update 20H2 question

I'm running Windows 10 build 1909 and that is running good. Do I REALLY need to update to build 20H2?? I've looked around about 20H2 and can't find a reason that suggests I have to update. Thanks for the help

 

Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

Steps to confirm issue:

• Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
• Secondary drive not visible in device manager
• Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

Steps to replicate issue:

• Installing 1909 update

Steps to resolve issue:

• Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.
