Windows 10: Windows 10 and Office 365 menu text turned into squares following Feature update 1903

Hi,


It would seem since the latest feature update to Windows 10 (1903), the OS and any Microsoft software will eventually display menus with squares inplace of the characters.


In Notepad the body text has changed to the squares and in Outlook and Excel that I use all the time either some of the body text changes to squares, or the entire body of the email has become invisible.


As well as the text changing to squares, sometimes menu icons will disappear from the Office apps too. The Windows Start menu's 'Settings', 'Documents', 'Pictures' and 'User' icons disappear.


I never see the change happen, it appears to happen when the apps are in the background and I go to use them again.


I've checked for a graphics driver update but I am running the latest driver for the Intel HD Graphics 630. (driver version 25.20.100.6615).

Prior to the latest updates I had no issues like this at all, and this update features a numbers of display related 'improvements'.


Restarting the apps resolves the issue temporarily for a few hours.


Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?

Cortana & Office 365 Integration

We are trying to integrate Cortana with our Office 365 subscription, but it never works. Here are the steps we have done:

• Turned on Cortona in the Office 365 Admin portal
• We are using Windows 10 1703 – connected Office 365 service to Cortana

Did the same on windows 10 mobile with no luck, Cortana says its connected to Office 365, but sees no data and we are getting zero errors

We went rough office 365 support first and tried all fo their suggestions, they kicked us over to Windows support which is currently closed.

We are on v1703 with all updates in place, it does not work on Windows 10 desktop or mobile

any ideas? I can give you all steps 365 support had us run through if that will be helpful

Windows 10 Start menu and Office 365 problems

The start menu worked perfectly for several months before it started freezing and giving a "Critical error" message. While the problem was initially resolved by a Windows update, it has now returned and is chronic. I have run several of the suggested fixes
which only work temporarily. The start menu stops working every time I switch on and off. It is ridiculous to have to run sfc /scannow every time I turn on my computer. Office 365 is also not working now - I can't open the Word link on my desktop which was
working the last time I had the computer turned on. The problem I believe was due to a clash between a Windows 10 update and an Office 365 update. I would like to do a complete re-installation of Windows 10 and Office 365 which I believe will solve this problem.
Please can you explain how I can reinstall these programmes.

 

Office 365 activation error after big Win 10 update

We appreciate your response, Keith. We suggest that you update Office 365 and see if it'll make a difference. You can simply do it by opening any Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Here are the steps on how to do so:

• Open Office app, then click on File.
• Look for Account, then click on Update.
• Once done, restart your computer.
