Windows 10: Windows 10 as a main OS?

May I ask what I'm looking at?

 

Yes. It's a Start Screen of build 9200 (Windows 8.0 / or Server 2012).
Only build 9200 allows for a single line.
Tiles are of course made with OblyTile and a 3D Text tool. Background color made by Décor 8.

Believe me, I have been posting these custom Start Screens for 3 years now,
and not a single user has ever expressed any interest in such a thing.

I don't care.

 

Ah. I've dabbled a bit with OblyTile for a little while, but I tried to stick with W8's intended design philosophy instead of trying to reinterpret it.

 

That's ok. I have always been at odds with live tile'ers or smartphone OS users.
I don't see customization as reinterpretation. I never liked the concept of an ecosystem.
I basically find default tiles to be appallingly repugnant.

Also, the original version of the Start Screen was not messed up by user complaints.
The SS in 8.1 and 8.1.1 has more stuff and annoying unnecessary junk not wanted by this user.
The Classic Shell style menus are an immense borefest for what I like.
Toolbars are sooooo 1990's.
Desktop icons create clutter.
Program Launchers on the desktop are also messy.

The introduction of the SS as a program / app / shortcut launcher separate from the desktop,
is an amazing thing in my world.

The nonsense of the Windows 10 transparency, basically they regurgitated a new design based on feedback.
Everything must be on the desktop. Yikes, not!

Don't give a hoot about the Microsoft design philosophy.

So nothing untoward. Good a new face isn't the problem, it is unknown to me functionalitys and stuff.

Well in this case I personally do not want to have to sign up to any more accounts to use my system than I already do.
Without having the vast knowledge of some of this forums users, I have to guess and filter ideas through my past experiences.
I've relied on the Seven and Eight forums for some great help. Thank you for your explanation. I might try to turn my secondary into a straight Windows Ten. I've read that the license agreement allows MS to keylog on the preview.

I don't really know you much about the keylogging thing, but if there is one it will be removed by rtm.

Probably true -- provided you exit the Insider program after installing the RTM version. Otherwise, unless MS comes out with a license change for RTM, there is no reason to believe that the "keystroke capturing" is suddenly going to end (for the Insiders program) with RTM.
