Windows 10: Windows 10 as an EFI device

I have a Acer Travelmate B113 Laptop which I have recently installed windows 10 on, however when it comes to booting the laptop, I have to go into the boot selection menu and select EFI: Windows Boot Manager. I have tried setting this option as the default boot device in BIOS but the only option that shows up is the hard drive. Is there any way I can make the laptop recognise the EFI device or any other way to make this work?

Windows 10 32-bit native UEFI install on Desktop/laptop with processor intel core i3/i5 or its amd equivalent

An EFI install of Windows 10 32-bit can be performed on systems that are operating in 32-bit EFI mode, which isn't related to your make/model of processor. You'll have to consult your motherboard manufacturer/instructions to determine what version of EFI
support your motherboard shipped with and if you can tweak it.

Typically, newer devices ship with a 64-bit EFI without a toggle to change that. (Which means no native install of Windows 10 32-bit will be possible.) Some, however, ship with a CSM option that kicks in the older BIOS stuff, it'll work, but you don't want
that.

Is there a reason you're trying to use a 32-bit copy of Windows 10?

 

Windows 10 Installation Error: "Windows could not update the computer's boot configuration. Installation cannot proceed"

I have a bunch of laptops that were Windows 8 Pro, and when upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, they encountered issues on boot ("The Boot Configuration Data file is missing some required information. File: \BCD Error Code: 0xc0000034"). My hope is that if I can
get one to boot, I can get the BCD off of it, onto a USB, and then copy that BCD into the other computers. I've tried several things on the laptop I'm working on; First, I tried installing windows 10 off of a USB Install Tool, which ended in the error message
"Windows could not update the computer's boot configuration. Installation cannot proceed." in the final step of the installation. I did some more stuff I don't remember, and eventually ended up just deleting all my partitions so all the space was unallocated
and trying to install windows on that, to the same error message.

These laptops are Toshiba Tecra R940s, purchased with Windows 8 Pro.

Have you made sure you're running the latest BIOS? I'm not sure which model you have specifically, but I looked at the TravelMate B113-E and it has a bios dated 4/7/14 that says "UEFI for Windows 8"
