Windows 10: Windows 10, ASUS touchscreen laptop, cursor jumping around

My cursor starts jumping around and deletes information, randomly types in the middle of other sentences and opens/closes windows. I know that I'm not touching the touch pad and can watch it jump around.


I've seen other threads/reports of this problem and the solutions that are usually recommended are to uncheck "Enhance pointer precision" and to uncheck "Hide pointer while typing." I've unchecked both of those boxes, and that doesn't help. I have also disabled the touchscreen which temporarily solved the problem but I bought this because of the touchscreen and this is quite inconvenient.



It appears that this started happening after a Windows update but am not sure which one. (That's the curse of having automatic updates.)


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

windows 10 asus laptop with jumping cursor

I have an Asus laptop with Windows 10. When ever i type the cursor keeps jumping around to different places. As I am a writer this is really annoying. I am a technophobe but can you please give me simple to follow instructions as to what I can do to prevent
this.

I have a Dell touchscreen, using for 2 year, running Win 10

Lately the cursor is unstable, jumps around, regardless of external mouse.

Has been serviced remotely w no change.

Any suggestions?

The cursor jumps around when typing emails or online forms but not when using word. I am not touching the touchpad. I've tried a couple of suggestions but none has worked. I didn't have this problem with windows 7. I am using an ASUS laptop.
