Windows 10: Windows 10 Automatic Driver Updates Hell Corner

Hi,
Like all things win-10 a new build install may revert prior preferences one has made personally might be the most annoying part of using win-10.
I don't use 10 enough to notice although I have altered the auto driver installing with Brink's tutorial so it seems to work short term at the least.
I have a host of Brink's .reg files that have to be reapplied lost count actually of exactly how many lol *Smile

 

I hardly set any 3rd party app/program to automatically download updates by the way , Nvidia included , like you see my favorite Nvidia driver the one I started the thread talking about is 1 year old where Nvidia would have kicked in attempting to replace like 20 times already , it all started when Microsoft Update kicked in trying to .

 

Its because Microsoft keeps changing things as they go , the constant ( updates / build ) changes windows behavior without you noticing , I even recall I had touch pad driver update laying in optional pool of updates and i never considered installing it because 9/10 times I used Microsoft drivers they either glitched or came without essential features . so somehow this driver manage to push through as well as an essential update , so its evident they changed things .

In 10 pro not sure which build but they/ ms did add settings to say on a current build for business
I missed which version of 10 you're using ?

 

windows 10 version 14393 and right now 15063 and going through the loops again

 

here is an update on the situation , so upgrade assistance managed to upgrade me to version 15063 and persist this is latest version despite Microsoft website states there are versions 1607 and 1703 , in all cases apparently solutions like :

were still ineffective , but all later Group Policy solutions were effective for the first time to me , researching the site apparently Microsoft acknowledges windows driver updates options were rewind in previous versions of windows :

Now question , why am I two versions behind and assistance persist I am on latest version ?

You're not 2 versions behind. Don't confuse the build number (15063) with the version number (1703). You have the latest and greatest. Hold down the WINKEY and press R. Type WINVER and press enter or click OK. You will get this. It is the latest.

 

thank you for the hint , btw i do notice a little improvement in this version , it speeded up some and looks a little serious in forms than its predecessor . (honestly still comic but meh)
