Windows 10: Windows 10 Backup does not recognize Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB External Drive

Hi,


I've been facing this problem for a long time now. Tried many options mentioned in various forums on the same topic but could not find a resolution that could work for me.


Here is a brief description of my problem:


1) My Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB is showing up in Windows 10 explorer and has enough space for a backup. Here is a pic (it's the G drive):





2) Things are also showing perfectly in the Seagate Dashboard:








3) But Windows 10 Backup does not recognize it:






It says no usable drives found.


Request some help to resolve this.

Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB External Portable Drive

Is this drive (Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB External Portable Drive) compatible with windows 10 and how do I go about making it work? I installed it while on windows 7 and I forgot that I had allowed windows installer to upgrade my OS to windows 10 the
same night while I was sleeping. I woke up around 6:30am and checked if it (scheduled backup for 3am)worked. The Dashboard said that the backup was halted at 5% and I kept trying to make it continue running and it would work for around 20 seconds or so for
a few times and quit (it would say it had halted each time with a new increment and I got it to go to 21% and no more). I finally unplugged the drive and uninstalled the Seagate Drivers and have not attempted to reinstall it yet. Any help would be welcomed
& appreciated! Thanks!

 

Seagate Backup Plus Slim and Windows 10

I am able to backup my files using Seagate Backup Plus Slim. Windows 10 tells me my Seagate software is up to date. However I keep getting notifications to backup my files on the Windows 10 Notifications Board. Also Windows 10 does not allow me to add
my Seagate Backup as an external device and seems not to be registering that I am already backing up my files to an the external Seagate hard drive. Any suggestions?

As mentioned in the above article that the drives are supported by the standard/generic device drivers that are already included in the operating systems out of the box.

Since the drive can function with default drivers it is compatible with Windows 10.
