Windows 10: Windows 10 Backup error 0x8007000E

All sudden backups stop and I can not turn them on. All I get is this error when I turn on the backup: I'm sorry, but it did not work. For more information, look for error code 0x8007000E

This seems to be a generic code. I'm not sure if I'll get help from Microsoft, but it's worth trying this forum!

Backup fails with error 0x8007000E

When I run backup (from Windows 7) it fails with error 0x8007000e. There is over 1TB of space on the detination drive and the souce drive is only 121gb

What the heck! Microsoft you are talking to humans not machines. Look up error code? How many windows users know technical stuff. Can't you just point out the real issue. My backup drive is 2tb and it's half full. I tried another backup drive but it's not
even letting me select drive. All I get is this generic error code.

I have wasted 6 hours of my life searching this error code but it appears everyone has got unique issues. This appears to be a generic code. I am not sure if I am going to get any help from Microsoft but worth trying this forum!

Hi David,

Generally speaking, 0x8007000E means current system failed to allocate necessary memory. You can check if your problem caused by not enough memory. To fix this problem, you can try to cleare all backups and images off backup drive, then reboot your system
and try to make backup again.

You can also try to initiate check disc on the external back up drive.

To initiate check disc, follow the below suggestion:

• Right-click the drive that you want to check.
• Click Properties.
• Click the Tools tab.
• Click the Check now button.
• In the Check Disk <disk name> window, select the
  Automatically fix file system errors check box.

Note If you want to perform a detailed test of the hard drive, you can select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box. You should do that in the justified suspicion of existing hardware error in any case.
But please note that the operation can then take a long time. For a first routine check, we recommend that you do not select this option.

• Click Start.
• If the drive that you want to check is currently in use and it is your system drive, you will see a dialog box with a warning message. In this case, click Schedule disk check.
  
• Exit all open programs, and then restart your computer. The checking will start automatically before next Windows startup and display the results when completed.
• If you are not checking the system drive, you do not have to turn off the computer. However, the selected drive may also be in use. In this case, you receive a message. After you have saved all files and close all open programs, click
  Force a dismount.
• The checking starts immediately. After it is completed, the results will be displayed.
