    I'm trying to use Windows 10 backup to a Seagate 500 GB hard drive but it seems to be leaving out some files and folders. I have checked the filename length and they are all well below the 256 character limit. For instance I have a folder on my backup drive with the name:

    F:\FileHistory\xxxxx@xxxxxx****\TXHQxxxxxx-L3\Data\C\Users\xxxxx\Documents\DataArea\Documentation\xxxxxxx\RTUConfigurations\GBY5\Pre-HathawayRetirement 156 characters

    In that folder on the source pc there are four folders all with similar names and lengths of 27 to 32 characters but only two of those folders were copied to the backup drive.

    I substituted 'x' for security reasons but I used the same number of x's so the filename is the same length.

    There is a large difference between the source drive properties and the backup drive properties for the similar folder.

    Properties on the 'Source' drive;

    Size = 55.7 GB 59,888,763,636 bytes

    Size on disk = 56.0 GB 60,145,872,896 bytes

    Contains = 269,242 Files, 22,940 Folders

    Properties on the Backup drive for the similar directory;

    Size = 49.9 GB 53,675,841,426 bytes

    Size on disk = 50.1 GB 53,895,536,640 bytes

    Contains = 198,492 Files, 17,594 Folders

    Why isn't the backup capturing all of the files and folders?

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
