Windows 10: WINDOWS 10 BEEPS IN STANDBY MODE

Every time since 2 nights ago when my screen goes dark [no typing for a while] I get a 'beeping & think it is a hardware sound. I was told to unplug my power cord then plugged it back in & still beep, tried all my connections & it worked for last night but started up again, I am trying different things.

Nettop beeping in sleep mode

In line with this, can you follow these steps on how to turn off the system beep sounds in Windows 10 and observe if the issue persists? Here are the steps:

• Right-click the Start icon, then select Control Panel.
  
• Choose the Large icons option from the View by drop down list found on the upper-right part of the Control Panel window.
  
• Locate and choose Sound.
  
• Go to the Sounds tab when the Sound wizard pops out.
  
• Locate and click Default Beep.
  
• Choose None from the Sounds drop-down list.
  
• Click Apply, then OK.

When on standby mode...

Your computer is set to standby in S1 mode go into your bIOS under power management settings and set it to S3 mode.

 

Nettop beeping in sleep mode

• Is your Windows 10 updated?

• Is your Windows 10 pre-installed? If not, what is the Windows OS before it was upgraded to Windows 10?
  
• Do you have administrator rights on your PC?
