    Windows 10 BitLocker suspend protection triggers an immediate resume


    I have two internal hard drives in my laptop that are encrypted using BitLocker and I am trying to install a new Dell BIOS update that requires suspending BitLocker. Unfortunately, when I suspend BitLocker through the Control Panel or PowerShell, it suspends for less than 1 second and then immediately resumes. I have poked around in various forums and Windows Group Policies but I cannot find anyone else reporting this problem much less instructions on how to rectify the problem. Dell Support was completely unhelpful...

    Need to turn off Bitlocker to install Windows 10

    Hi,

    We suggest doing the following steps again to resolve the issue. To complete the procedure, make sure that you have the following information:

    • You must be able to provide administrative credentials.
    • The drive must be BitLocker-protected.
    To suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption on an operating system drive, please follow the steps below:

    • Click Start, click Control Panel, click
      System and Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
    • Click Suspend Protection for the operating system drive.
    • A message is displayed, informing you that your data will not be protected while BitLocker is suspended and asking if you want to suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption.
    • Click Yes to continue and suspend BitLocker on the drive.

    Is it possible to Audit Events of Process Resuming from Suspended state; for Task Scheduling trigger?

    Hello,

    I wish to create a scheduled task that is triggered by a process resuming from when it is "supsended" (like in the Task Manager status column of the Processes tab).

    I have created a task that is triggered by process creation by following these steps: How to start a program when another one is started , however I wish to extend the event-triggering to include "Process Resume
    from Suspended".

    Is this possible?
