Windows 10: Windows 10 black screen after POST

My computer has been built for a while now. It has always seemed to struggle to boot - it has to "boot" twice each time. Sometimes it black screens after POST, but after restarting it boots normally.


But now when I turn it on, it stays in the black screen after POST and will not respond. I tried turning it off and restarting it a couple times. Now it attempts the Start-up Repair after the POST.


It doesn't fix it of course. It no longer black screens after POSTing, but instead goes straight to the Start-up Repair, which inevitably fails to help. I can't seem to enter Safe Mode.


First I tried the System Restore twice.

Then I tried to go back to a previous version, but it wouldn't let me.


After checking online, I tried this:

But when I enter "c:\boot\bcd -h -r -s" into the command prompt, it says "Path not found - C:\boot. Further googling told me to try typing in "bcdboot c:\windows /s c:". This yields a "Boot files successfully created", but I still get the "Path not found".


sfc /scannow doesn't help.


Please help me.

Windows 10 Black screen, Start screen, Critical Low Battery

I would suggest you try the power troubleshooter if you are able to boot into the system.

Follow the steps below.

• Press Windows key + W and type Troubleshooting.
• Select Troubleshooting and click on System and Security.
• Click on Power and follow the onscreen steps.
