    Select Lexar stick and see what happens. Your BIOS may just drop the USB part. The BIOS menus vary quit a bit from PC to PC manufacturer to manufacturer. If it works, on the first reboot during setup, you'll have to go back into the BIOS and switch it back to the hard drive. If you don't it will just go throw the setup all over again.

    I do not see lexar USB in the list anywhere for a device to boot from .. frustrating lol

    Just a point on this part. After the display of setup progress, about 5-6 lines that are checked green when completed, there will be a 10 second countdown before that first reboot. It is displayed on the top of the screen. As long as he pulls the stick out before that 10 seconds is up , he'll be fine. No need to go back and rearrange the bios boot order again. It will fall thru the BIOS choices and boot from SSD/HDD, or whatever is second.

    Yes that will work if the hard drive is set as the second boot option. I like to go back in anyway and set it back to normal so there is no pause on boot up while it looks for the thumb drive. *Wink
