Windows 10 Boot Loop PC Did Not Start Correctly

Hello, so the other day my PC was working just fine, no issues at all, then turned it on the next day to find my self in a boot loop. First the PC tried to do its standard recovery with no luck, then it tries to boot and it will not work then sends me to the "Your PC did not boot correctly" and gives me the options to trouble shoot or turn my PC off. I've tried to restore it to an earlier point, which the point was weird, it said AVG Uninstalled at 4:44 in the moring which I believe I was not even on my computer and also believe that it wasnt even on at that point 99% sure. I had surgery at 12:00 AM on Tuesday moring getting my appendix taken out and wasnt even home and dont think my computer was sleeping but I could be mistaken. Anyways I've tried to do the chk disk on my main hard drive which on my computer is disk C and my other drive is drive D however when troubleshooting and going into the directory of disk C there was no information, Disk D has the information that I know was supposed to be there and Disk E now was saying that it had all the information that Disk C had originally when I would use my Computer. In addition when I tried to restore to the AVG uninstall point it gets all the way to the end and then says that the installation was unsucessful and none of my files were modified. Also one of the System Restore Error codes I got was code 0x80070091. In addition, I tried to boot with no early anti virus or whatever the option is with no luck. When I start my PC now, after BIOS screen it goes straight to the first recovery screen with "Diagnosing Windows" or something like that. Also tried to reset all of my BIOS setting as I had a slight overclock on the CPU and someother small BIOS modifications I believe. Any information to help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

    :)

I am trying to get someone's laptop to boot properly and it seems to be stuck in the start up loop and when it is going through the startup loop a square flashes on the screen and it keeps coming back to your pc did not start correctly and the laptop has
windows 10 home version on it. It originally had Windows 8.1 when we got it.

Windows 10 Boot Loop PC Did Not Start Correctly

Hi, sorry to hear of your operation, and state of PC.
I assume you were using a command prompt at that point. When doing do the drive letters are not necessarily the same as when you normally use Windows. That's normal. You just have to be careful and check.

Experienced by quite a lot- MS is working on it. In a thread I started with that error number in hte title, over 24 pages long last I looked, there is a fix in the first two pages.

System Restore is regarded by a number here as 'useful when it works' but you need a better line of defence- routine disk imaging using e.g. Macrium Reflect (free).

That would have helped you here had you been using it, and we may use one feature that happens to be on their boot disk anyway.

Now, we have no idea as to why your PC started to behave as it has. So lets check your disk first.

Assuming you can't boot into Safe Mode, download Kyhi's boot DVD/flash drive from the top of the Software and Apps section, which will boot your PC to a version of Windows 10. Also get a copy of Crystsl Diskinfo (free, portable) and run that. It gives a Good/Caution/Bad indication.

Do not proceed unless Good, and post back the outcome.

Macrium Reflect is also on that disk, and has a useful means of attempting to correct boot problems.

When replying, please use paragraphs- much easier to scan and read- thanks!
