Windows 10: Windows 10 bricked my Laptop, failed to install October update 2018

First of all, I would like to keep things civil here with respect to the forum moderators and the community here, as I can see that everyone is working tirelessly to help solve and mitigate the problems that they had.


Except that, Windows 10 is a broken product.


It comes to a point where comsumers like you and me are wondering if Microsoft even cares at this point. A negligence in QA before rolling updates may bricked their PCs but do they compensate us? What about the economic impact behind this? Would Microsoft pay for my freelance work I'm working on for my clients now that its gone, forever?


I liked the days of Windows 7, why is Windows 10 so bad? Who likes constant unrefined updates that takes forever to install, often fails and has a chance of causing missing files.


Microsoft tricked me into upgrading to Windows 10? Okay, fine. Shoved me updates I don't need for features I don't care (except for security policy updates), fine. To cause my $900 laptop bricked and with me losing my files and personal storage? That's just too far. At this point, only other consumers would be able to relate to the loss and frustration over this issue. I am sick of it and I want Microsoft to be accountable for this, legally or through other means.


Sick of this. Tired of Microsoft updates gone wrong. As I said in the beginning, this is aimed at Microsoft alone, I have no issues with the good folks and moderators here.

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time

New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP
