The OC, I have no idea. I see nothing in the BIOS to change anything like that. That is a slight concern. I can't find any reason why it's .01 GHz over the stock... Skylake CPUs are designed for Overclocking, but I did not intend to do any OC for some time. I'll keep looking into the BIOS maybe?

Anyway... I got a BSOD when I stopped the prime95 test. Yet another BSOD blaming rt640x64. I will include everything. prime95, however, shows all passes.

    Thanks, Arc.

Based on the Prime95 test, we cannot say that the CPU is failing. I dont know why XTU is doing so. That's odd enough.
Prime95 is the best available CPU test.

I think you need to uninstall the OC utilities like XTU and OCCT, then go to the BIOS and set it to the optimized defaults.
Also uninstall any such programs as said in post #26.

  3. Here's an interesting question: Could one small setting in the BIOS have screwed things up?

I simply used the BIOS' OC Genie tool to OC my CPU to 4.4GHz. That was 2 nights ago. I have effectively played games through that entire 2 days without any crashes. Is this odd? Or is there possible sense to this.

  5. Been a little over a week. No crashes. Must have been a BIOS related setting. Marking this as solved.

Thanks for all your help, Arc!
