    Windows 10 BSOD ntoskrnl.exe

    Hi,

I have a HP 15-ab034tx India, which has Intel i7-5500U and Nvidia 940M.

I did a fresh install of Windows 10 20H2, and installed all drivers from the HP Support site. It used to crash a lot, and after some research, I believed the drivers might be at fault especially the Nvidia one.

I tried using the latest one from NVidia website, but it also crashed a lot. I then decided to downgrade to 1709 because the driver on HP Site mentions that it is for 1709.

Now, on Windows 10 1709, I viewed the DUMP files using BlueScreenView and most of them say that ntoskrnl.exe is at fault. The latest one says dxgmms2.sys is the cause.

I have no experience regarding debugging BSOD Dumps, but from all the reading I did on the topic, I am attaching all the dump files so that some one can help me.

I have a decent internet connection so upgrading/downgrading Windows or any drivers won't be a issue.

Additional Info: I have run Linux on this laptop, and it also faced a lot of Kernel Panics, but I fixed them by switching to 5.4 LTS kernel. It worked without any issues on that.

    Hey there Luddle_Pudde!

Evan here an Independent Adviser here to address your issue.

It sounds to me that there may most likely be an issue with one of your memory sticks. I would suggest attempting to first run a memory diagnostic test.

The steps to do so can be found on this website:
    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

When you say you purchased memory sticks, did you replace all the ram in your system or just some?

Also, if you had just recently purchase memory sticks. We know one thing for certain: that the memory sticks you just purchased are working optimally.

Therefore, I would suggest removing your old memory sticks if the above test doesn't come back with any errors. If your games work without any crashing,

My hunch is that this is a ram issue. Have you also attempted to re-install all your drivers for Nvidia?
