Windows 10: Windows 10 BSOD WHEAA_UNCORRECTABLE when playing embedded videos

The next step is, as said, to at least remove the device and see how your system behaves.

 

I completely removed the hard drive and still get the BSOD issues.

 

With that information nobody who tries to help will get far.

oh, alright, well, i'm sorry, you're right. I guess I wasn't sure exactly what is needed. Sorry.

Let me explain a little (I hope this helps).

The best way for me to recreate the BSOD is to open a launcher for a video game Eve Online.

They recently stopped supporting the 'old' launcher. With that statement they say they no longer support 'Windows XP users'.

The 'Windows XP' version is stable but the new version give me BSOD right when it opens.

 

Derp, saw the link in your post too, sorry. I forgot the rule, just follow the BSOD posting guides each time. So sorry, I will get on that.

This is new, I was trying to create a backup USB using 'Back up and Restore (Windows 7)' and got a BSOD while doing that.

 

I've done this many times, but out of nowhere it doesn't fit anymore.

I check everytime for BIOS updates when going through logs, now I find that your BIOS version is not listed on MSI support page, where did you get it?

I downloaded it in 2014 from their support page. Could they have removed it?

 

Possibly, but check for BIOS updates.

 

There is an updated BIOS from 5/22/2015.

I'll go ahead and update it tonight then.

 

OK, I updated the BIOS. When I do the activities that previously caused a BSOD, windows just freezes. So no more BSOD, just a frozen screen.

• The last times stamp before watching a video is that Security-SPP at 11:03pm
• I start Steam and navigate to a video at 11:06pm
• Windows freezes and I leave it frozen so there is an obvious time gap
• I reset the computer by manually turning it off on the tower and turning it back on at 11:19pm.

Anyways, I still ran the log collector and here are the logs:

I'm getting ready to just try a clean install of Windows 10. What do you think? I haven't done a clean install for years.

My timeline:

• Install windows 7 (~2012 not sure)
• Upgrade to my PC to the hardware I currently have (Feb 2014)
• Upgrade the OS to Windows 8.1; not a clean install, the upgrade from 7 (March 2014 - BSOD begins)
• Upgrade the OS to Windows 10; not a clean install (Summer 2015)

 

A clean install would have been my next suggestion *Wink

But remember that you canNOT rush with software installation, install all Windows Updates & the drivers that your motherboard provides from the website. Use only Windows Defender, Malwarebytes on-demand too if needed. After you are sure that no problem has occured start slowly installing software one-by-one and do it in steps, so lets say you install a few programs each time and check if any problem occurs, if none occurs then install a few other programs and so on.

 

Geeze I can't catch a break.

Every time I run the Windows MediaCreationTool to create a USB with a Windows 10 I get a BSOD.

OK, I got windows 10 installed. I downloaded all of the drivers from my motherboards web page (the one you linked earlier - Support For Z87-G43 GAMING | MSI Global | Motherboard - The world leader in motherboard design)

I did it slow - one at a time with a restart after every install.

I downloaded Steam to install and upon opening the SteamSetup.exe the system crashed with a BSOD.

I am able to recreate it exactly, downloading the Eve Online launcher and running it immediately gives me a BSOD. Here is that dump:
