I have unchecked "Show Touch Keyboard" Several times. I have a desktop not a touch. Every time I exit and restart it's there again.

You could try this Touch Keyboard Toolbar - Enable or Disable in Windows 8

It always seems to appear if you use RDP or VM in Windows 8

Thanks adamf. I'll give that a try. One other thing I've found is, I changed my search to Google and IE 11 didn't save that either.

  9. At least you guys got it to install. On this machine I am trying to upgrade Windows 8.1 and I have tried no end of things. The install quits and hangs at around 2% or 22% after a reboot and "Setting up devices". A reboot rolls back to Windows 8.1. or 7 as this is a dual booter.
The only error code I get is this one :
    Windows 10 Error code 0xc1900101-0x30018

Windows 10 Error code 0xc1900101-0x30018 Solved - Windows 10 Forums

OK, I have run SFC and checked for error, all drivers are up to date. Tried it in Safe Mode with Safe MSI. I have tried 4 times so far but will keep bashing away as now I want to know what is the problem?

I'm guessing that's a bug with the installer, MS can't take into consideration all configs during a beta release, i suppose that's why they release both upgrade and ISO installers, have you tried the ISO Tony? you can upgrade from that.

Yes, I'm seeing it as well. Seems to happen 100% of the time.

Sleep failure. (Just when I thought my 8.1 insomnia issues were over!!).

It appears that the auto update sends out a power request under 'EXECUTION' showing as \Device\HarddiskVolume1\Windows\System32\svchost.exe (wuauserv) and this stops timeout sleep. Problem is, win 10 doesn't clear this request after the update so no more sleep till you restart.

Event logs\system show the updates being recorded. It is after that my sleep stops.

    Others seen this?

  14. I have had a freeze on the start screen and a memory error window pop up. I have since changed back to the start menu and it has not happened since. Touch wood it stays that way.
