Windows 10: Windows 10 build 10041: Known Issues

I had the same issue. I created a new user account, and all was well.

 

Same here, created a new account and that worked, but the Admin one still didn't.

No tweaks, it just happened probably after an update, I've had all kinds of problems with 10 after updates.

 

I'm starting to think that the issue you're having might be due to a corrupt download of updates.

Thats a lot of bang for your buck, poor old Microsoft they can't take a trick at the moment.

 

If you're signed on as Administrator, it's not supposed to work. No start menu, no store apps. Been this way since beginning. Should all work signed on as your MS account.

 

This is my MS account and it was working, but now it ain't.

 

I got something similar the other day when I re-installed 9926 fresh to get ready for 10041. I got right-click menu with all you did, but merged together, like shuffled, two together of each top to bottom! When I reinstalled, File History, for some reason, took off and starting restoring everything from my ext drive, and MS one-drive sync starting the same thing. I had chosen the option to create a new machine, not keep the old one, and I think that's what made it all try to "help". Some help! Anyway, I turned off file history and sync, reinstalled 9926 as new machine, and all worked fine. Good luck!*Smile

 

Here's a strange one:
I've got this in the 'All apps' menu:



and, when I click on it, I get this across 3 monitors with Ctrl+Alt+Del and Sign Out as the only means of escape!?

 

I dont have that in my install?

 

Thanks for the feedback. But after posting I did a clean install from an ISO and the problem went away.

 

So far I've only noticed three bugs. A couple of times when I opened the start menu and typed the name of the program I wanted the search did not pop up. I had to click on search to get it to work. When I restart or shutdown I get a message that 15 programs/apps are preventing the computer from restarting or shutting down. I have to wait for windows to shut them down. When windows starts I no longer have my log in pic. I went from two pics to a cartoon pic.

 

I would like to get rid of the lock screen but none of the fixes for 8.1 seem to work

 

Sorry but I'm not diggin transparency on the Start Menu.
If I open the Start Menu I want to look at IT, not the crap behind it!

 

I never dug into it. I just planted classic shell right away. I dont understand the never ending issue about the start menu. I don't like it, too. But BOOM! Problem gone with classic shell.
