I'm not sure why but some of my build 10041 bugs are fixing themselves. I no longer get the 15 apps/programs are preventing windows from restarting or shutting down. Now I get the spinning dots and then the computer restarts or shuts down. Yesterday I keep getting a popup that I needed to log in to my MS account. So far today it hasn't popped up even once. I still have trouble getting Cortana to respsoned to Hey Cortana. I have to click on the microphone. I made a report to MS about the change from the pie graph to a doughnut under drive properties in File Explorer. They need to change the colors. Anyone color blind check it out and you'll see why I reported it. Or I should say won't see why I reported it. It's very hard to see the two different colors.

 

Yeah mine seems to be fixing itself after numerous reboots and updates with errors, updates not downloading and apps not working etc. After the numerous reboots all the updates are now installed and the apps are working.

Windows 10 has been a bit of a headache for me, but now it seems to be finally settling down and behaving.

I created the GB version of the ISO (ENTERPRISE x-64) from the ESD file and apart from "the usual gripes" with a new OS it's been working OK both on a physical machine and various VM's. I performed CLEAN installs from the ISO I created. Kari's tutorial explains the whole process of creating the ISO from the update ESD.

Main gripe was audio -- on an ASUS older Mobo with VIA HD integrated audio the sound failed after the VIA driver as installed by Windows. Rolling back to the default Windows (Ms) HD audio fixed that. I've had to roll back the driver a couple of times after windows automatic updates.

I don't like the new menu - the Windows logo covers the panel to list all applications and the search is still an abomination - and the system icons at the right hand of the screen doesn't work (for example remove hardware logo for removing a USB device etc). I got round that by setting system icons to appear on the taskbar always.

Most of the programs I use regularly I've pinned to the desktop (open file location ==>send to desktop (create short cut) so I can live with the hideous menu.

I really would like to have the old option of being able to select what updates to apply back again but at least the Roll back still works !!.

Otherwise for a TEST OS it's coming along.

Are you saying this OS does not work properly unless you use a Microsoft account?

This OS works perfectly simply using a LOCAL account.

You only need an Ms account to access its cloud services (One Drive / Windows live etc). You will need one as well to download some previews but that doesn't mean you have to log on to Windows with an Ms account.

Even the latest Office 2016 preview works without you having to sign in to an Ms account.

EDIT: or make them a couple shades darker than an Explorer window!

works brilliantly for me

working on a decent Stocks Options chain (weeklys - CBOE weekly option stuff). Need to correct the automatic look up when I select a new stock to get the option chain -- got the data for the wrong stock - easily fixable - but all the colours etc of the spreadsheet and the VBA macros work brilliantly -- Excel 2016.

I use the MSN weather app. It tells me an update is available, but it can not install it

 

Try WSReset.exe

 

SOLVED! After some research on the Parallels forums I had to uninstall Parallels Tools from the Win 10, shutdown/reboot Win10, then reinstall Parallel Tools and all folders working again!

 

I tried that, tried uninstall through PowerShell. Same thing. Clean install fixed it
