Windows 10: Windows 10 Build 9860 Now Available

Mine increased about 6 GB.
There is a windows.old folder that can be deleted.

 

'RecoveryImage' folder is the biggest culprit, 23.4GB!

 

I don't have a RecoveryImage folder.
I wouldn't have room for that, I have this in a 20GB VM folder.

 

Use Disk cleanup in Administrative tools to get rid of the windows.old folder.

My gadgets disappeared when Windows Sidebar was unloaded. Had to install sidebar again.

 

I have no sound whatsoever, Windows Media Player doesn't work at all...

With deleting some other installation files I can clean up 6+ GB !

 

Sound is working OK for me. Windows Media Player is working with both Video and music. Did your sound drivers for your mobo get axed or the settings changed?

 

All good now; a couple driver installs and a couple restarts! *Smile

 

It took over as default OS on dual boot (separate SSD) but that's easy to fix. Added abt 9GB but I don't worry about it. Before it occupies the entire SSD, the official release should be out by then. *Smile I think AMD CCC issue has been patched but I have yet to confirm that. I only noticed because it was the first item that popped out on my notifitication center that says requires an attention.

 

Hi Edvin, download KB 3008956,it will fixed all sound issue.

 

Much like the 8.1 internal upgrade, there is no sign of an ESD folder, however, I extracted 'Install.esd' file from 'Recovery' and converted it to an ISO then created bootable media. A bit of a process but in the end, makes for a quick clean install of build 9860.
Works fine.

Hi everyone, I’m Gabe. As Joe mentioned last week, I lead the Data & Fundamentals Team here in the Operating Systems Group (OSG). My team is responsible for a number of things, but the one I’m most excited about right now is that we’re helping to review and understand all of the feedback we get from you folks via the Windows Insider Program, and working with all of our feature teams to make changes based on what we hear. You can expect to hear from me going forward on anything regarding the Windows Insider Program – including new builds we release.
New build:

As a matter of fact, we’re rolling out a new build today – Build 9860! This is the first update build to Windows 10 Technical Preview, and we’ll continue to deliver more as part of the Windows Insider Program. Sometimes they’ll be more frequent and sometimes there will be longer gaps, but they will always be chock full of changes and improvements, as well as some bugs and things that are not quite done. As we’ve said, we’re sharing stuff early and moving quickly to do so. In fact, the build that we’re rolling out today is something that we ourselves only got a little over a week ago! I hope that you’re as excited about seeing these early builds as we are to share them with you and hear your feedback.

Don't think so, downloading it now and they call it Preview build 9860 so with some 7000 "under the skin" changes looks like brand new build 9841 > 9860.
